Proof of Commercial Concept Fund 2007-2010
Yorkshire Concept is a new project Fund designed to stimulate the commercialisation of research and knowledge-based activities in the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the Yorkshire and the Humber region. It is funded jointly, on the principle of matched funding, by the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward, and the Higher Education Institutions themselves.
Activities will focus on supporting projects which enhance potential for a new product or process to become commercially viable and on forging collaborations between higher education and private sectors to encourage innovation.
Our Partners
Central to the success of the Yorkshire Concept : Proof of Commercial Fund are the partnerships between the Fund, the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the region and Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency.
Allocated funding is matched 50% from the Fund sourced by Yorkshire Forward and 50% from the HEIs with £3 million being contributed from each source over a 3 year period, creating a £6m Fund. In addition we work closely with the Yorkshire Enterprise Fellowship scheme
